Ark Corporation (Fujisawa-cho, Ichinoseki City, Iwate Prefecture; Representative Director: Hashimoto Shinei), which operates "Ark Tategamori," has signed a business cooperation agreement with Luup Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Okai Daiki; hereinafter "Luup") and will begin offering the electric kick scooter and electric assist bicycle sharing service "LUUP" at "Ark Tategamori," an agricultural experience facility operated by Ark Corporation, from Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
Luup's mission is to "create infrastructure that turns the entire city into a 'station area'" and they provide a sharing service for electric micromobility, such as electric kick scooters and electric assist bicycles, called "LUUP." It is used as a daily means of transportation in a variety of situations, such as commuting to work or school, shopping, going out, and sightseeing. When a port, which is a LUUP transportation hub, is installed, it will lead to the utilization of vacant space in real estate and will become a starting point for transportation. The installation of the port will make it easier to travel to places that are a little farther away on foot, allowing people to live a convenient and fulfilling life as if they were in front of a station.
Ark Tategamori is located in Fujisawa-cho, Ichinoseki-shi, Iwate Prefecture, and is a facility where you can see, taste, and experience agriculture at an agricultural production site. There are many facilities, such as organic vegetable fields, a place to interact with animals such as sheep and ponies, a garden where you can enjoy many seasonal flowers and herbs such as lavender and amethyst sage, "Natural Food Restaurant Tils," the first certified organic restaurant in the Tohoku region, and a "Farm Market" that sells bread and herb products made from home-grown wheat, allowing you to spend a relaxing time outside of the everyday.
Ark Tategamori is a 100-hectare ranch with the themes of "food," "agriculture," and "life." In an effort to reduce the environmental impact, transportation for visitors was previously limited to sightseeing buses and walking. By providing a sharing service for LUUP's electric micromobility, the aim is to increase convenience and mobility for visitors and expand the variety of stay styles.
