My name is Nao Onodera and I am in charge of the farrowing shed at Hanaizumi Farm.
 
Today I would like to write about things to be careful about when dealing with pigs.
 
In the farrowing shed that I am in charge of, I take care of the sows from birth to weaning the piglets.
 
We treat the sow when it is unwell, help with farrowing when it is difficult to give birth, and when the sow gives birth safely.
 
I feel like, "Mom! You did a great job!"
 
So, it looks like they are obstetrics and gynecology staff.
 
I try to treat the sows with compassion every day so as not to put too much stress on them.
 
The piglets drink a lot of milk from their mother every day and are full of energy, so I watch their growth every day with the warm eyes of a kindergarten teacher.
