Hello everyone!
This is Ito from the Agriculture and Pasture Department.
The pasture-raised pigs we raise on our farm include the Tategamori Plateau pigs that are normally raised.
There are different ways of raising them.
One of the reasons is that the period that mother pigs and piglets spend together is different from that of Tategamori Plateau pigs.
There are long points.
Normally, mother pigs and piglets of Tategamori Plateau pigs stay together for about 20 days.
After that period, the mother pigs and piglets are separated and raised in groups of piglets.
However, in pasture-raised pigs, the mother pig and her piglets are together for three times as long, about 60 days.
By extending the period of time that mother pigs and piglets spend together in this way,
This reduces the stress of being separated from the mother piglet and allows the piglets to grow up healthy.
↑This is a scene where a mother pig and her piglets are eating food together.
The piglets in the photo above are about two months old since they were born.
As a result, the time to say goodbye to the mother pig is approaching, and you will no longer be able to see this scenery.
However, just like people, children grow up away from their parents.
I'm sad to be away from the mother pig, but I would like to see her off with the piglets.
