My name is Yuki Higashiume, and I joined the company this year from the pig farming division.
I would like to introduce myself and tell you why I joined this company.

I have been around agriculture since I was a child.
My family was a farmer, so I remember watching my father and mother farm and imitating them and helping them out.
There was an incident that made me want to be involved in agriculture.

March 11, 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. My hometown of Otsuchi was also affected. The usual sight of the town disappeared in an instant, and life continued to be filled with anxiety and fear. I still remember the actions my parents took in such a situation. They evacuated those whose homes had been damaged to their parents' homes and provided them with rice balls and miso soup. I asked my parents, ``Why are you helping them when they are also having a difficult time?'' The answer I received was, ``When you're in trouble, it's important to help each other.'' This event was a great experience for me.

I am in my third year of high school and have to decide on my career path. I want to be like my father! Because of this strong feeling, I wanted to get involved in agriculture. One day, I received a school brochure from a teacher who had helped me, saying, ``If you want to do agriculture, I recommend this school,'' and that led me to enter an agricultural college.

During my two years at university, I learned about the field of vegetables, met many friends, and had many experiences. When the time came to find a job, I visited various companies. When I was thinking about where to go, a friend of mine asked me to go out for a change of pace, and that's when I first learned about Tategamori Ark Ranch.

Surrounded by a lot of nature, many people are having fun and smiling. When I saw that scene, I wanted to work here too and make everyone smile! That's what made me decide to join the company.

Currently, I belong to the Pig Farming Division and work with mother pigs on a daily basis. At first, I was surprised by the size of the mother pig, and my muscles ached from the unfamiliar work. Now that I'm used to the work, I'm always conscious of managing the health of the mother pigs.
Since joining the company, I have felt that my life has always been blessed with people. It was my first time doing daily work, and it was difficult at times, but with the help of my classmates and seniors, I grew and became who I am today. Tategamori Ark Farm was the reason we were able to grow. When you come to the farm, I would like you to enjoy delicious food while looking at the scenery. There should be many new discoveries.
