nice to meet you!
This is Yuka Sato from Fujisawa Farm, Pig Farming Division!
It's been half a year since I joined the company.
This year has been full of new things, such as living alone for the first time, driving a car for the first time, caring for a pig for the first time, and so on!
This time I would like to talk about what I studied at my university.
I was studying textiles at an art university in Yamagata.
When many people hear the word textile, they think of ``designing patterns on fabric.''
However, at my university, we had classes that were far removed from design, such as growing dyes to dye cloth in fields and shearing wool to spin thread.
In the field, we cultivated safflower, the prefectural flower of Yamagata.
I was doing maintenance work such as soil management, weeding, and watering in parallel with my regular university classes, part-time job, and assignments.
I remember having to wake up early and have a hard time getting up in time for the 9 a.m. meeting because I commuted two hours by express bus to the university.
However, when I dyed the cloth with safflower that I had grown myself, I was very excited to see the white organdy dyed red.
I still remember how impressed I was that such wonderful colors could be created from natural plants.
Of course safflower is attractive, but the fact that I grew it myself made it even more appealing to me.
From this experience, I gradually began to develop an interest in agriculture, and decided to join ARK.
Right now, I'm working hard on the soil and taking care of the mother pigs and piglets!
I will continue to work hard every day while refreshing myself with my favorite alcohol, so thank you for your continued support.
