hello everyone!
I'm Hikaru Komiya from Hanaizumi Farm, Pig Farming Division, who joined the company in April this year.
During his school days, he spent his days playing volleyball and raising goats.
Therefore, I was a little confident in my physical strength when I joined the company, but until I got used to walking around in coveralls all day, I was in bed at 8:30 on the earliest days...
Currently, at Hanaizumi Farm, I work daily with a team that takes care of mother pigs and performs artificial insemination.
This time, I would like to tell you about the thing that surprised me the most after being assigned.
Did you know that pigs have multiple sounds?
Newborn piglets bleat. Very high-pitched voice. I can't meet piglets normally, so just hearing this voice makes me feel better♡
The mother pigs that I am in charge of will squeal when they are excited (angry?), such as before feeding them in the morning or during injections. It's hard to imagine, but pigs can squeal loudly enough to make your ears go crazy! ! When I heard it for the first time, my image of pigs completely changed (laughs).
Then, for several days, which is the right time for artificial insemination, they groan when they feel the presence of a male.
Of course, there are times when I say buhibuhi. It feels like it's a lot of times when I'm lying down and relaxing.
When my health continues to be poor, or when the pig doesn't listen to me, I often feel that it would be nice if I could have a conversation with the pig. On the other hand, I think that being unable to do that is what makes working with animals so interesting!
We will have a new employee in just 4 months left. I would like to continue to absorb a lot of things and do my best so that I can become a senior with confidence!
