Hello.
I'm Sugawara, in charge of animals in the Agricultural Department.
It's the middle of June, but speaking of June, it's "change of clothes", isn't it?
There are already hot days, but just like people change from long-sleeved to short-sleeved, animals also "change clothes" to prepare for the hot summer.
Deer and ponies change from long, fluffy winter coats to short, glossy summer coats.
The pony Anne, who was born in July last year, is still growing.
Fluffy whitish winter hair and downy hair (?) has fallen out and changed to glossy reddish brown summer hair.
If you approach it, it will push the itchy part, asking if you want it to be scratched (laughs).
On the other hand, the sheep on the ranch do not regrow their fur naturally.
If you don't cut their hair by hand, they may not be able to endure the heat and get exhausted in the summer.
We sheared about 160 sheep again this year.
I haven't shaved even one...(-_-;)
Mr. H, a haircutting craftsman who is proud of Tategamori Ark Ranch, worked hard all by himself. Alligator!!
↓I'm Chippi, a Corridale.
It's too bulky and I can't see it from the front because my eyes are hidden (laughs)
↓After shaving
↑ ※It is the same child
I saw a refreshing and cute face!
The Corridale breed is a hair breed and has a different coat than the meat breed Suffolk breed.
It seemed hotter than the Suffolk breed because of its dense hair (^^;)
↑Everyone feels refreshed~♪
Now you can enjoy summer with peace of mind!
