In South Korea, which is next door, I was impressed to hear that school lunches were all organic for quite some time.

I have always wondered what is going on with school lunches in Japan.

I don't know if the declining birth rate is progressing and the industry, which was said to be a huge school lunch industry, is changing.

Now, even in Japan, it seems that the movement of organic school lunches has started in municipalities across the country.

I wished for the food safety of children who will be responsible for the future, and I thought that it was important for national policy to take responsibility for it.

I saw on Facebook that the "National Organic School Lunch Forum" was held in Tokyo on Wednesday, the 26th of last month, and that many municipalities participated and had lively discussions.

It's a pity that I can't see the participation of the local Ichinoseki city, but it seems that the swell is certain.

It seems that the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology have explained the budget for school lunches in the organic village project, and the second event will be held on the 10th of this month.

The food self-sufficiency problem has been highlighted in the world situation such as the corona disaster and the Russian-Ukrainian war. Even if it is difficult, we feel that we must reaffirm our awareness as organic food producers.

I finally started to light the wood stove in the cold of the morning and evening. After all, it's warm, and it's kind to the household budget amid soaring fuel costs. It seems that the sale of firewood at Tila Farm will also be spurred.

Today there were roses still blooming beautifully and proudly in the windy garden of late autumn.

The name is "Honoka"

It's a gentle name, but it's a strong and beautiful rose. I want to be like this.

Shizu Hashimoto
