As the temperature is higher than usual, the roses have started to bloom about two weeks earlier than usual, and the early-blooming lavender has also started to color, making the garden truly feel like early summer.
And it started to get glamorous.
There are about 200 roses of 90 varieties planted in the Fragrant Wind Garden.
When you think of roses, you probably imagine red or pink, but the garden is actually home to over 20 varieties of yellow roses.
Even though we say yellow, there are colors that are closer to orange and colors that are closer to white.
It is bathed in sunlight and the yellow is very vibrant and eye-catching.
Of course, red, pink, and white roses are also in bloom.
This year, perhaps due to the lack of rain, the flowers are a deeper color and have a stronger fragrance.
Most of them bloom all year round, right through to autumn, but their peak season is in June.
The early-blooming lavender, "Koimurasaki" (deep purple), is also starting to turn color.
This variety is characterised by its light fragrance and deep flower colour.
The scent here is also stronger than usual.
Four varieties of lavender are planted in this area: Okamurasaki, Lavandin Grosso, and Lace Lavender.
The scent varies greatly depending on the variety, so we recommend gently touching the lavender to enjoy the scent.
It is sudden!!
On Sunday, July 7th, we will be holding a one-day farmers' tour entitled "Living with Herbs in a Lavender Garden."
This workshop is recommended for those who are wondering how to grow and use lavender.
On the day, after the lecture, you will have the opportunity to experience harvesting lavender in the lavender garden and make crafts using the lavender.
