Hello!
This is Fumiya Tomizuka from Fujisawa Farm, Pig Farming Division.
I joined the company in 2019, and this year marks my 5th year. I belong to a department called ``fattening'', which raises pigs that are delivered to customers from the first year of life until they are two months old and shipped.
Now that I've been working for 5 years, I've recently become able to pay attention not only to the pigs, but also to my surroundings. I understood that in the work of pig farming, it is not only the role of each employee, but also the overall flow and cooperation that is important, and I realized that there are many things I can learn by understanding the physical condition and growth rate of pigs other than my own. I did.
I also learned that a suitable environment is essential for raising pigs. Just like humans, they tend to get sick when the seasons change, and if it gets too hot, they lose their appetite. It is necessary to detect such changes in climate and temperature and change the environment inside the livestock barn. There's no air conditioning or heating, and the pigs don't talk. I am in the process of refining my senses and experience every day while listening to the opinions of my seniors.
I'm almost in a position where I can be considered a full-fledged person, but I'm still full of discoveries and surprises every day. This is natural since we are dealing with living things, but I think that is the appeal of this job.
We will continue to do our best to deliver delicious pork to everyone!
