The hot days continue.

Iwate this yearCurrently, there is so little rainfall that it can be called a dry rainy season.

Thanks to this, the wheat berries ripened very well and we were able to harvest them in the best condition we have seen in recent years.

Actually, I was really worried because last year's seeding was delayed and the growth conditions in early spring were poor, but I was really relieved.

I was prepared for a decrease in yield, as I had to cut down about 15% of the crop to prevent weeds (I gave up on the wheat before the weed seeds fell, and cut it down along with the weeds while they were still green).

We were helped by the weather with little rain.

Onions are the opposite.

There was no rain during the period when the fruit was most abundant, and the soil in the field lacked moisture, resulting in a harvest with many small grains.

Although 50,000 seedlings were planted, the overall weight was significantly reduced compared to last year. Hmm!

At the manufacturing site, if the weight is the same, you have to use a large number of small pieces, which takes time and effort to peel.

I was reminded of last year's large and beautiful onions, and I was disappointed.

All we can do is bow our heads in front of the workings of nature.

but! , Another good thing.

Due to the lack of rain, the lavender fields are beautiful for the first year! That's what it was.

Lavender loves dry climates.

Although the peak has passed, you can still enjoy the slightly dull lavender color and scent.

And it's a paradise for bees!
ラベンダー畑のミツバチ
Many kinds of bees are working hard.

When I listened, I heard...buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz...

It's not just lavender fields.

There are many bees and various insects and butterflies in the fragrant garden and in the newly planted flower garden.
