Hello.
My name is Satomi Someya, and I joined the Pig Farming Division this year.
Nice to meet you, so I would like to introduce myself by telling you about my life up until I joined ARK.
Since I was a child, I have lived and grown up in various areas of Japan.
My parents wanted to fully enjoy the land where they could only stay for a few years.
Visit historical townscapes, tour hot springs, rent fields from farmers to grow vegetables...
He raised me while playing a lot together.
I grew up in Tokyo from junior high school to university, but I had an interest in agriculture and food from living in rural areas, so I wanted to be involved in such fields in university club activities.
For four years at university, I neglected my studies in the Faculty of Letters and went to Tanohata Village in Iwate Prefecture, where I was involved in forestry, agriculture, fisheries, and regional revitalization.
And I was able to experience many encounters with attractive people who struggle in those fields.
Inspired by these people, I came to think that I would like to continue to be involved in the world of food and agriculture, which I had vaguely been interested in since I was young.
〈Scenery of Tanohata Village, where I was indebted〉
That reminded me of Tategamori Ark Ranch, which I often visited in Ichinoseki, where I lived when I was young.
I decided to work at ARK because I thought that I could live in Ichinoseki, which I love, and work like a human being in the midst of nature.
However, getting a job in the primary industry seemed unimaginable to the people around me.
Even when I was talking about the future with my classmates, it took a lot of courage to say, "Agriculture is good, isn't it?"
The university circle was a gathering of people interested in agriculture and the local community, but there was no option for my friends to make it a career.
Many people, including my family, were surprised when I got a job at ARK.
When I joined the company, I was impressed by the large number of young employees in their 20s and the size of their roles.
“Make agriculture an industry where many young people can work with their dreams.”
I felt that the mission was being realized.
I think that we have to have a firm awareness that we have become a member.
Now.
My self-introduction has become quite long, but...
Half a year has already passed since I started working as a new member of society at ARK.
Since joining the company, I have been working every day at the farrowing barn of Hanaizumi Farm, taking care of big mother pigs and small piglets.
Even though I take care of hundreds of them all the time, they are full of individuality, and their facial expressions and movements are so cute that I am so proud of them that I just want to stop working and pick them up.
It is a job to see only a part of the delivery house, but when customers and acquaintances who have eaten the product praise the quality, I feel that my work is connected to the production of delicious pork, and I feel refreshed. I will.
I will continue to do my best not to lose to my seniors and my peers, so please do not forget your original intentions!
