In April of this year, the Heisei Emperor abdicated, and a new era, Reiwa, began on May 1st. To commemorate the change of era and to express our congratulations on the enthronement of the new Emperor, we decided to close May 1st, which is in the middle of Golden Week, for the first time since our farm started.
Although it was the president's decision to close during the middle of Golden Week, which was a long period this year, employees were able to take a breather and felt like it was a day that felt like the beginning of a new era.
It was an impressive event that coincided with the arrival of a new era.
In the pig farming business, swine fever (renamed ``swine fever'') became a major problem from central Japan to eastern Japan. It was a year of fear due to diseases carried by wild boars, and there was also the danger of African swine fever infiltrating. It was also the year of the beginning of a period of intense tension.
Also, I can say that there has never been a year in which we have been so troubled by unseasonable weather. The devastating damage to eastern Japan caused by super typhoons No. 15, No. 19, and No. 21 continues to cast a dark shadow. Also, looking at our feet, our fields were also in a critical situation. When it comes to field crop failures, we must do what we can based on human wisdom and never let it happen again.
If we look far away, we can recall regrettable incidents such as the death of Tetsu Nakamura, the fire at Notre Dame Cathedral, the unresolved pro-democracy uprising in Hong Kong, and the burning down of Shuri Castle in Okinawa. Tetsu Nakamura's death is an irreparable loss for Afghanistan, but we can only hope for early reconstruction and resolution of the other issues.
The first year of Reiwa ends today, and a new year will begin tomorrow.
Of course, I'm really looking forward to the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics!
The world is looking forward to seeing the beautiful sights of the world's top athletes competing (and winning medals). Let's pray that it will be a ``Recovery Olympics'' just like that call.
Please look forward to next year's Tategamori Ark Farm.
A number of different initiatives are being planned. We will be posting more and more information on our homepage, etc., so please look forward to it!
Another declaration.
・We don't make what sells, we make what we want to sell. We create products that are close to the important concept of ``Food is life.'' Because that is our “aspiration”.
Make food that is healthy to eat. I want to create something that has something to make people happy. That's the origin of Ark, and one of its missions.
Thank you very much for your patronage and support this year.
We hope that Reiwa 2 will be a year of great happiness for all our readers!
