Hello.
I'm Doshida from the Agricultural Club.
The hot August is over and it's September, but there are still hot days
It continues.
How are the pigs grazing today
Here's how you survived the heat this summer.
Mud bathing is a summer countermeasure that pigs practice on their own.
Please look. Most of the body is immersed in the mud pond.
This mud pond is a pond that was naturally formed when it rained when pigs dug up the soil of pasture land with their noses.
On hot days, everyone is soaking here to beat the heat.
However, if sunny days continue, this pond will dry up. ↓
The picture shows pigs soaking in a pond that is gradually drying up.
As soon as the pond is gone, it starts to get hot, so I manually filled it with water and made a small mud pond.
That's here.
It seems that some of the pigs are complaining, "Hey, it's small," but I think it was cool.
When it rains, it is difficult to proceed with work, but for the pigs, this time of year is a blessing.
You may be able to see pigs soaking in the pond at ARK Ranch after the rain.
