Nice to meet you all!
My name is Shizuru Senda from the Pig Farming Division and Asparagus Farm.
At the earliest, it will have been six months since I joined the company in April of this year. Compared to when I first started, I have become much more accustomed to working in pig farming.
The asparagus farm where I work is a "weaning house" where we take care of one-month-old piglets. Piglets born in the farrowing shed
They are quickly separated from their mother pigs and come to the asparagus farm. The piglets are separated from their mother and placed in a new environment, which puts them under a lot of stress. To achieve this, we provide an environment where the piglets can live comfortably, and play an important role in transporting the healthy piglets to the fattening shed.
Now, even though I have gotten used to my job, there are still many things I don't know. What still amazes me is the growth rate of the piglets!
I see the piglets almost every day, and when I see them again after the holidays, I can clearly see how big they have become! That's why pigs grow so fast.
Piglets are born weighing about 1.3 kg, but when they turn into meat after 6 months, they weigh about 110 kg. In other words, you can increase your weight by 100 times in just 6 months! It's really surprising!
Even when I fail at work and feel depressed, the cute piglets comfort me and cheer me up every day. I feel proud that my work is so enjoyable and rewarding.
Lastly...the origin of the name Asparagus Farm. It appears that asparagus was grown on the land before this farm was built. For this reason, it was given the mysterious name "Asparagus Farm" even though it is a pig farm. Also, since asparagus grows very quickly, the name also symbolizes ``May the pigs grow healthy and healthy just like asparagus.''
I will do my best to continue to grow together with my beloved piglets!
