It's been 20 years since we started raising sheep.
I remember buying about 30 of them at an auction in the Koriyama market and taking them home on a truck.
I was surprised by the high price, but it was the first time I saw a livestock auction, and it was very impressive.

As a matter of course, each head had a pedigree certificate.
Currently, the sheep are breeding and will increase to about 250 this year.
For a long time, the work of our sheep was primarily weed control, but in recent years they have also begun fattening for meat.

The other day, we had a few tastings in our company. Looking at cute lambs and writing like this, some people may think that the livestock industry is a cruel profession, but agriculture, which is our livelihood, grows food for people to eat. I feel deeply again.
The Spirit Festival and Animal Spirit Festival held around the equinoctial week in spring and autumn are rituals to dedicate a heart of reverence and gratitude to the many lives. I believe that we must at least not waste the lives we have raised, but make them delicious and nutritious.

And the lamb meat the other day. We had delicious!
Lamb = meat from a lamb under 12 months old
Mutton = later
Although it is generally known, there is actually a hogget between lamb and mutton. Meat from 12 to 24 month old sheep.
It has a darker red color and a deeper flavor than rum.

What a delicious tasting meat the other day!
Ever since I learned that sheep meat is good for dieting (laughs), I sometimes order it from a certain store and eat it deliciously, but I've never eaten such delicious sheep meat!
It hadn't been since the famous Shirakaba Shokudo in Obihiro, Hokkaido, which I had been to a long time ago.

I'm sorry for all the delicious stories even though not everyone in the company is eating.

Since it is not possible to write "homegrown" on the product label, it will be "made in Iwate Prefecture", but it has not yet been sold.
