With the arrival of November, it is time to start preparing for winter in earnest.
What kind of winter will it be this year?
In Japan, the House of Representatives election is happening and politics are very hectic. In the United States, the presidential election will be held early next week. It will be interesting to see what the results will be.
The world situation has been changing since the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and the Israel-Palestine conflict has no end in sight. I hope that the wars in these conflict areas will end and peace will come as soon as possible.
Food products in Japan are also affected in various ways by the world situation. There are currency problems, grain production in conflict areas, the impact of exports, transportation issues, and so on. The more unstable the world becomes, the more countries around the world suffer from food problems, and this has a significant impact on our country as well. This is especially true in Japan, where the food self-sufficiency rate is less than 40%, and the reality is that many ingredients and food products are imported.
This is why we must further strengthen our domestic food production base. This is true for energy, but we must also increase our food self-sufficiency rate and become a country that can produce its own food without relying on imports. Unless we do this, I believe we will not be able to live as a truly independent nation.
We also produce and sell pork, eggs, lamb, various processed products, vegetables, grains, herbs, feed, and fertilizer. Although the amount is still small, we will do our best to strengthen the agricultural foundation in Japan even a little. And all of our staff will continue to work hard so that agriculture can be passed on to the next generation as an attractive industry!
