Today, the last one-day farmers' tour of the year, "Pony Keeper," was held.
The three groups of six participants were all repeat participants from last year!
Because it was a month full of events, the announcement got buried and there were very few applications for this farmers' tour, but it was still a fun and friendly event.
After checking in, you will be given an explanation and introduction about ponies and the work of the zookeepers while looking at some materials, and then you will be moved to the stables in Wanpaku Square.
While the ponies were out grazing, we had the stables cleaned.
They cooperated and cleaned up very nicely.
After cleaning, we went into the pasture where the ponies roamed freely and brushed them, groomed their hooves, and gave them apples as a snack.
The ponies love apples, so they were chased until they ran out of apples (laughs).
The visitors were able to interact with the ponies and sheep, which they can normally only interact with through fences, up close and to their heart's content.
Enjoy a special sandwich for lunch while watching the ponies.
Served with warm herbal tea.
Although the temperature was a little low, the weather was good, sunny and warm, making it a perfect day for an animal care experience.
Why not try becoming a pony keeper next year?
