Hello!

My name is Sasaki and I am in charge of beekeeping at Ark Tategamori.

Honey is quite common on many of our dining tables, but this time I would like to introduce the wonderful properties of honeybees and the honey from Ark Tategamori through this blog.

Ark Tategamori is home to a wide variety of flowering trees and herbs; it is a very favorable environment for bees, as it is rare to find such a large variety of herbs and flowering trees at other apiaries.

From mid-June to early July, you can harvest lavender honey, which is extremely rare in Japan. This year, there was little rain during the lavender flower blooming period, so we were able to harvest excellent honey with excellent sugar content and flavor!

Also, as a new initiative this year, we have planted a large number of nectar-producing herbs, which will enable us to produce a new type of honey that has never been produced before.

The amount of honey a bee produces in its lifetime is only about a teaspoon, and its lifespan is only about one month.

The environment in which bees can live is decreasing due to the effects of pesticides and global warming, but the bees at Ark Tategamori are hard at work in their rich environment, and seeing them both soothes me and increases my motivation.

If you have the chance to come to Ark Tategamori, we hope you will try our delicious honey. It goes great with bread, tea, yogurt, and more!
